I am an artist who first started with mixed media collage and then moved to contemporary abstract art.  I have found the merging of the two a perfect vehicle for political art. I love the idea that from afar my paintings could be just another abstract painting but upon coming closer more is revealed.

An interesting analogy for what is happening in our country…. we are being called to look deeper at what is occurring in this dangerous Trump era.

From Russian meddling in our election, which not many people (especially Republicans) seem very interested in pursuing, to the dismantling of health and safety regulations, the falling international opinion about our country and this administration’s obvious preference for rich, white Americans, I could go on and on…..climate change, gerrymandering, voter suppression – yes, we have a lot that is under attack.

In spite of being Triggered by Trump it is incumbent upon all responsible Americans to take a closer look at what is emanating from Washington DC that impacts all of us.

It seemed an appropriate time to share this post, considering that yesterday, January 26, 2024, DJT was found liable for $83 million in damages to E. Jean Carroll in her second defamation case against him. In case you are not familiar with this case, back in May of 2023 a Manhattan jury found DJT liable for sexually abusing and defaming E. Jean Carroll and awarded her $5 million in damages. You can actually read that juries verdict here.

Yes, that is right, the former president of the United States, now the top GOP contender to run against President Joe Biden in November, was found responsible by a NY jury of sexually assaulting E. Jean Carroll in a dressing room of a NY department store 30 years ago. They also found him liable for defaming her. No surprise, he couldn’t keep his mouth shut and continued to defame her even after he had to pay $5 million. In this new trial only defamation was at issue since DJT had already been found liable for sexual assault. When you brag that you’re a billionaire and flaunt the law, juries assume they need to hit you with something big to get your attention, like $83.3 million.

Even when you’re a star, there can be repercussions…

The old is new, sadly

The post below was originally shared in October 2019. Maybe we need a little refresher in what we went through with DT as president. Americans don’t seem to remember history very well and the GOP is trying to rewrite history in schools across the country.

Can you imagine if Germany tried to drop the Holocaust from their history classes or taught the Nazi’s perspective, as if it was legitimate, just as they are trying to do right here.

Nikki Haley can’t even acknowledge, and it seems many Trump supporters don’t even know how the Civil War started. Just check this out.

This denial of history is partly how we have wound up looking closer to Germany in the 1920’s and 1930’s than to America in the 1990’s.

Some memories from late 2019:

I’m sure there are many people who just like me would like their lives back but cannot turn away from the high crimes and misdemeanors our president is committing on a daily basis, and it is getting worse.

At first it was just norm breaking but now it is coercing American allies to provide political help for his re-election, and to clear his pal Putin from being blamed for 2016 election interference, while abandoning the Kurds another American ally (or ex-ally) as they become refugees since they have been forced to flee their homes under American sanctioned Turkish gunfire and bombs.

What has been unleashed in America and when will Republicans wake up and join the Democrats in impeaching this out of control president who does more for Putin than for America and our allies?

It’s pretty sad, it’s even worse in 2024.

Don’t give up! There really are more reasonable Americans who want to keep our democracy, but we need to be sure they can and will all vote.

I’m back!

January 2024, and once again DT (it’s even hard to say his name anymore) is the front runner for the GOP nominee to be the President of the United States of America. This is truly beyond insane, the man who instigated the largest domestic terrorist attack in America, on our lawmakers no less, threatened his own VP, didn’t care that he could have been hung, stole classified documents, was found liable for sexual assault, and still… the GOP wants him.

This is not the time to sit this one out.

This is not the time to be rebellious and vote third party.

I started a site like this in the early days of Trump, it was hacked a few times but with the new year, elections looming and no one in sight who will replace Trump on the ticket (unless of course he winds up convicted before November) and any potential replacement wants to send the US back to the 1950’s just like him, so I’m back.

I’m tired too, but this is definitely not the time to be too overwhelmed to engage, somehow.

Don’t quit on our democracy.
